Weeding at Bukareeyoo
Our first public weeding event of 2025 will be held at Bukareeyoo (Ocean Grove Spit) to remove invasive species Euphorbia, commonly known as the Geraldton Carnation weed (Euphorbia terracina).
Unfortunately due to the potentially dangerous sap that this plant contains this will need to be a child free event.
Date: Sunday 6th April
Time: 10am
Location: Meet at the last carpark on the ocean side before the Barwon Heads bridge (formerly known as 20W)
Cost: Free
Weekly Weeders
The Weekly Weeders hope to return to their attack on Polygala in the dunes in late March 2025, depending on the weather. Weekly Weeders avoid the hot – and snakey – summer months.
The Weekly Weeders gather on Thursdays from 10am – 12pm, under the supervision of the City of Greater Geelong environment team. Please email us for further information and to register your interest.
